Camping trip - Bear Lake, Idaho

Packing and trying out the bags -
On the drive up to the mountains, Ben fell asleep with a marker in his hand. Dan took the marker out of his hand. He has less head support now that he is in a big boy booster seat!
Sleeping and enjoying the road trip.Zachy woke up at the end of the drive. Just in time to give a sweet smile.Dan said, "Don't honk the horn at the cows! Haven't you seen the movie City Slickers? They will charge the car!" Leah said, "Umm, what should we do?" A few minutes later, a local driver in a truck came up honking the horn and the cows went running.
Leah said, "I guess the movie was referring to the bulls." Dan - "These Cows must be urbanized." BEAR LAKE, IDAHO
We set up the tent and started the fire. Then it was time for tin foil and dutch oven dinners, banana, boats, and smores!

The boys playing with the rocks. They bonded over their love of Transformers, Lightening McQueen, and Thomas the Train.
Silly boy - Ben was loving the rocks. He was right at home.
His very first Smore! This was a special occasion!
The verdict is................... YUMMY!
The next morning -
Relaxing by the fire pit. Zach was in the background in his pack n play.
Sarah making a breakfast casserole in the dutch oven! YUMM!
Zach was totally in his element. He had a graham cracker in one hand, and a bottle in the other.
Mommy and Ben outside our tent, with the gorgeous view in the back.

The view from our camp site - What a way to wake up! So relaxing.
Ben loved the rocks. He took one home and said, it was a polar bear rock because it was white.
Ben and I went for a morning walk. We were looking for bunny rabbits. We only saw chipmunks that morning though.
After Ben saw a chipmunk, he started singing an Alvin and the Chipmunks song. "Chick a wow wow."After we packed up and had breakfast, we jumped in the car. A few miles down from our camp site was the North Beach side of Bear Lake.
The view was gorgeous. The weather was perfect. Daddy and Zach enjoying the view.
Ben in the sand pit. Carter and Ben were building Transformers in the sand. Ben was building Optimus Prime. And Carter was building Megatron.

How many people does it take to put together a kite?(Dan, Jason, Lara, and Bishan)
Ben and Carter running after Sarah and the kite.
Jason and Dan playing Frisbee by the water.

Carter and Ben could walk a few miles out in the lake, and the water only came up to their knees!

So happy in the water.

We came home and showered, un-packed all the camping gear, and had a yummy ice cream treat from the ice cream man. What a great way to end our fun family outing.
