THE TRAVELING GARDNERS

So one thing that is very important about our home in the summer time is that it smells like summer! We got a little reimbursement check from our Mazda. I decided to go wild and get some yankee candles with a pinch of it! Now our kitchen smells like fresh squeezed lemons. And our bathroom smells like Island spa (Dan's favorite by the way) and coconut bay yankee candles. And our bedroom smells like sand and sea which smells just like really good suntan lotion! I miss working at Wicks N Sticks! I just LOVE candles. I would love to own a candle shop one day!!!

The week leading up to my biopsy results, I had a lot of nervous energy. On top of it, I finally had enough of burning food that I cooked. The final straw was when I literally caught a bag of popcorn on fire....literally..... Dan's literal words were, "I have never seen a popcorn kernel actually catch on fire!" So I had it...I was going to get domestic if it was the last thing I did...and it helped get my mind off the phone call from the Dermatologist to come with the biopsy results. (Which I thank my lucky stars that I do not need more surgery!!!) SO here it is...Leah getting domestic! I mean c'mon...this is part of my "job" description....I better get it right.... "Slaving over the stove" pose...just a pose though...this night (Easter) we went upstairs to Michele and Ed's to have a feast! SO yummy! * Side note * Some of you have commented on my little polka dot number. Just in case you have asked or are curious - I got it from the Navy Excha...

So I just read a baby bulletin that comes to my e-mail once a week. It usually gives me updates on babies that are Ben's age. And developmental milestones to look forward to. But today I received an e-mail that reminded me to focus a little more on myself. I think in our daily lives it is so easy to focus on your children, your hubby, bills, the home, cooking, cleaning, school, church callings, relatives, keeping in touch with friends....that we sometimes forget about ourselves. So today the e-mail said work on focusing on the following three things for the next couple of weeks....FITNESS SLEEP AND FREE TIME. My own personal goal is to stick with my new goal of starting up with weight watchers and get to bed earlier!!!! Oh yeah and my hair is in dire need of a cut and color, my eyebrows need a good wax and shape. So me - focus on me...that's tougher than it sounds. So here's to focusing on us! And on a side note - So I read in a Cosmo or some high fashion magazine that writ...

Obviously I still have yet to perfect my domestic skill of cooking. I can clean and organize like nobody's business....but when it comes to cooking...let's just say it's a hit or miss situation, and this time I missed! Hockey puck anyone????? True love is when Dan eats my hockey puck cookies and says that they are great dipped in milk....I knew there was a reason I married him....
