Pre op and Post op
The day before Ben's big surgery, Grandma Reva flew up from Cali. She spoiled us and helped us through this difficult time.
Here are pictures at Luna Berry. Yummy frozen yogurt...... Here is Ben and Grandma eating a crepe!
Same day we went to the hospital for a pre surgery class. Here Ben and Grandma are posing with Spiderman on the 3rd floor.
Then surgery day came. We let Ben wear his penguin outift to the hospital with his superman under roos and shirt underneath. Prior to surgery the hospital let him make his own doll. He colored in the face and put a little hospital gown on him. When he went back for surgery.....Ben was in a good mood. But we were all a nervous wreck. Ben was in surgery for 2 1/2 hours. We were waiting in a room with other parents that had kids in surgery. At one point Grandma, Dan, Zach, and myself decided to grab a bite to eat and relax on the outside patio. Zachy ate his hands.......
I entertained my Mom and Dan with my orange.
ORANGE I cute? HAHAHAHAAA
My Momma teaching us how to relax and enjoy the sunshine. That hospital recycled air can get to ya.....
Dan patiently waiting with us for the nurse to call with any news.
The surgery finally was over. We were able to visit with Ben. We were eager to give him presents. But, all he wanted to do was sleep.
He woke up for a few minutes. Hugged his new Bumblebee Transformer from Grandma. And went back to sleep.
Zachary was also worried about brother. Here he is sitting with him in his bed. In this picture, Ben was about to be released to go home.
The surgery itself went well. However Ben had complications from the anesethia. My Mom spent with the night with Zachary at our house. Thanks to my Mom being here, we were able to spend the night with Ben at the hospital.

Grandma spoiled us with her help and special grocery trips. She insisted that Ben needed a pool to soak in. Dr's orders she insited. We couldn't argue with that.....
After a week of hospital visits, resting, watching movies, and hanging out at the house, we ventured out of the house for a bit. Down the street, on our base we have our aerospace museum. Grandma Reva really wanted to go, so we took her. This was Grandma's last day of being here. It was a nice ending. And it wasn't too much on ben, since he was able to sit in the stroller as we walked around. His pain meds were working good, and he was able to get out of his stoller for a little bit. They had a education area where the kids could dress up like real pilots. This made Ben very happy.

I think Zachary enjoyed himself more than Ben in the plane!
Roger that, we are ready for take off.

Ben is doing well now. Still a little sore. (As expected) He now has a matching scar to Mommy's c-section scars. We are grateful for all the prayers and kind thoughts sent our way. And we are grateful for the women of our church who brought us delicious dinners.
