I am blessed
Dan left last night(this morning) at 3 am. He is officially deployed. It came so quick, I barely knew what hit me. And even though my eyes are puffy from crying my eyeballs out, I am so happy that I have friends and family who bless my life daily with their love. These feelings were triggered from an e-mail that I got from my friend Becky just minutes ago. She said many things, but what touched me the most is that she took the time to write a list of things that would help keep me busy while Dan was gone.....she took the time..... I then went to my computer and wrote a word document (I am a word document junkie) of my own list with Becky's tips added in.
Here is my list of how to keep busy and help keep my sanity while Dan is deployed:
(in no particular order)
Stay organized!!!!
Prayer
Scriptures
Visit temple to help feel peaceful and the Lords love while Dan's gone
Cleaning and organizing files, pictures, house......
Pedicures, Cold stone oatmeal cookie batter ice cream, Rag mags
Stephanie Meyer Twilight book series
Budgeting money and paying off bills
Being a part of the family readiness group for unit
Writing Dan letters, e-mails, sending him packages, talking through web cam
Scrap booking (our wedding and Ben's first 2 years)
Finding a permanent place to live and settle in
Journal writing(good and bad feelings)
Play time with Ben(museums, parks, pools)
Blogging(family, military, and healthy website)
Gym, personal trainer - while Ben is at day care. Gain endorphines, lose weight, anxiety, stress
Traveling to visit family and friends
After we are moved and settled - finish degree
Thank you Becky for your sweet words and advice. Thank you Brenda for your experience and "anytime you need me" words. Thank you ward(my church congregation) for making sure we are taken care of. Thank you Mom for your ear. Thank you Megan and Heather for your laughter and happy times. Thank you Jenn for your "drop anything to help a friend" attitude. Thank you Dan for your sacrifice. Thank you Benjamin for keeping me focused on what matters most.

You will all remain in my thoughts and prayers until Dan's safe return home! I thank each of you for your sacrifice. Leah, I know you have a lot of support around you, but know that there is an old friend in North Carolina who is thinking of you. And if you visit your mom in Virginia, let me know... maybe we can meet up! Love to your family.
XOXO
