Last days in Hawaii

I thought I would show you some pictures of what you missed while I wasn't blogging. First, we start off with our last days in Hawaii.

Ben and Daddy posing for a picture right after Daddy received his Army Achievement award.

We tried to take a family photo, but Ben kept looking away. Dan and I look cute though.

With two weeks left on the island, and temperatures hitting about 95' there was only one place to go - THE POOL! The navy base has the greatest pool. It has a water slide and a separate kids area that is covered from the sun. At this pool, Ben was more interested in flirting than swimming.
A full view of the water slide!

Whoooo hooooo Daddy going down the slide.......

Mommy and Ben looking oh so ready for the pool.

Look at the camera Ben. Woops....... the sun was in his eyes.

CHEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZ

The cutest thing ever was when Ben floated on his back and giggled the WHOLE time. He loved the life vest.

Ok Daddy - all done! Where is my towel?

After the pool we went for one last scenic drive around the island. This is a shot right from my passenger seat.

Smile Dan! Look at all those freckles!

I miss the ocean................

After our pool day, Ben was more interested in sleeping than looking at the view.
A tradition at our church in Hawaii was to give lei's to the people that were leaving the island. We received a whole neck of lei's on our last day. By the time this picture was taken, Ben was so exhausted! We will miss you Moanalua 1st Ward!
Daddy and Ben looking so handsome in their lei's.

Our friends Ed and Michele took us out for a good bye dinner to a Mexican restaurant called MEXICO! As always Ben is the main attraction. These singers kept coming up to Ben and singing to him. Look closely through the rain and you can see Ed. Michele, Dan, Leah, and Ben. We set up the digital camera on our car. The the timer took our picture from across the parking lot.

Dan's Army unit treated us to a good bye lunch at Hard Rock Honolulu. It was a really nice lunch. And we're glad we enjoyed it because, later that day Ben was hospitalized for his kidney infection.
Dan, Leah, and Ben and all of Dan's Army Hospital Unit. We had such a great time.

Col Corto and SFC Johnson

Dan, Leah, and Ben - Little did we know poor little Ben was not feeling good.

Sgt Johnson about to present Dan with his present from the unit

SFC Hudson as always joking around with Dan

Col Corto coining Dan with the Tripler Hospital Commanding Generals Coin

SFC Bonilla congratulating Dan on being such a great soldier

Dan brought his buddy Robert Perez to tears saying good bye.

Sgt Wyatt's baby - Xavier - the youngest guest at our good bye party.
Surfs up at the Hard Rock Honolulu

Daddy and Ben in the Pediatric unit at Tripler Hospital

Daddy and Ben in his hospital room - thanks to daddy and his hospital unit friends we were given our own room. It was nice to be able to spend the night with Ben in his room.

Mommy, Daddy, and Ben - Leaving the hospital!!! Flying out the next day!!
EDIT: I forgot to say that during Ben's hospital stay, Dan went before the promotion board and was promoted to E6! Yah Dan! My man rocks. With two hours of sleep, he still soared through the board! So YAH for Dan and his promotion!

ALOHA HAWAII!!!

Oh so difficult to leave a place you love so much. Believe me, I know. I feel as if I've spent most of my life saying good bye. Of course, that means I've also spent most of my life saying hello... that's kind of cool. Good luck in this new chapter.
